Hello, my son was diagnosed with CKD3 in December of 2017. His function level was 30. The only reason they could find was his BP. When I brought him to the ER he was complaining of being short of breath. I had noticed changes in his sleep habits. He would be grunting in his sleep. Well his BP was 226/126.....at 19 you don't expect for your child to go through shit like this. Sorry😢. We are working on his BP and diet. My question is can his function be raised. I know full function they say doesn't happen but God has the final say. I would love to here any feedback.

Hi I can well relate to how you feel. My son too had high blood pressure and reduced kidney function and ended up in the ER three years back. With medication diet and excercise he has been able to manage his blood pressure and improve his kidney function as well. At such high blood pressure levels your son likely faced an acute event. So it’s very possible that with well managed blood pressure and life style changes he can improve his kidney function. My son did🙏So hang in there and make your effort and if you can work with a dietician on his diet plan based on his blood report please do. My prayers and best wishes🙏
Worriedmom98,
Have they referred your son to a nephrologist and to a renal dietician? Both would be helpful in advising the best steps to take.
