If you are passing low dose of protein ( Alb/Creat Ratio) 19.6 should I be taking a
Ace inhibiter or not I have my Blood Pressure and Diabetes under control. I am confused as to weather the protein passing thru the kidney causes more damage or if the protein is just the results of the blood pressure and diabetes and if I keep them under control than I should be fine and stay away from the ace inhibiters. My creatinine serum is
0.86 and my GFR is non African American 98 . My Doc has not recommended anything
says every thing looks fine. Your opinions please!

Hi Marvin, thank you for your reply. I noticed you just joined HealthUnlocked 4 days ago and nothing in your profile to read. I like your comment, but do you have Ckd and how did you base your answer please. I'm am not trying to be mean in any way so please don't take this wrong. Just want to know for sure this is a correct answer. Thanks Hank
Like the majority on this board, I was diagnosed with a simple blood test, which in my case was about a year and a half ago. Went from 54 to 60+ after properly hydrating. Was just tested twice less than a month ago and went from 55 fasting to 58 non-fasting. I've done a shit-ton of research in the intervening time and the takeaway has been that nephrologists know a lot less than they act like they know regarding diet affects, exercise, muscle mass, and hydration on their effects on CKD. If you keep your blood pressure and diabetes under control, preferable thru exercise and diet, you'll be totally fine. 99%+ on this board would kill for your GFR number. My latest creatinine was 1.39, then 1.34 and I'll be 60 in a few weeks.
Thank you Marvin. I have done the diabetes and BP thru diet and a natural ( blood pressure take care by New Chapter). And I have been taking Prosta-Strong Red with Nitric Oxide Booster which has cut my trips to the bathroom in half from 20 to 30 to about 12 now. I think I am going to see someone about that. I figure that the bathroom trips would decrease when I got the diabetes under control so that must be something to do with my prostate. I will be 55 years old in a few months.
Not sure what you have read, but I had trace protein in my urine and my nephrologist said it was normal, nothing to worry about but he would keep an eye on it. The values I've read about are above 30 to be concerned about watching.
That's what my Doc told me every thing looked fine and he would keep a watch on it, guess I was looking for reassurance thank you for your response and God bless.
