I think we should consult a dietician and Nephrologist specialist as every situation is different. Group support is helpful and my diagnosis is ibuprofen used in excess for 6 years following shoulder implant and use of Prilosec for heartburn the lady 6 months putting s me at gfr percent is 39 . I am 70 years old and feel fine. Drinking more water, gave up salt, gave up Advil and Prilosec, tylenol and Zantac as needed is okay. Walk 10,000 steps most days. Eating cherries, blueberries and apples now.

Myra -- I admire you for counting daily steps. I'm going to do that. You look fine for your age. I have benefitted from seeing a nephrologist on a regular basis and having had a one hour consult with a renal nutritionist. I'm 86.
