Acupuncture with Kidney disease
I think it would be something to ask your team first not heard of anyone trying it for ckd x
Yes I will do. I do know if you register with them they are in touch with any consultants you are under, but I was thinking that because of my blood pressure and anxiety if it could help that which as we know puts pressure on our kidneys. I will enquire about it to be sure first though, thank you x
Yes, check-in that it will be ok with your consultant, just in case. I tried it about 15 year ago, found it helpful, and am about to embark on a new season of TCM input. Personally, the most valuable shift for me from the first time around was the emphasis on whole body-mind-self maintenance. From what I remember, TCM is less about quick fixes and discrete organs and more about attuning to one's 'systems' and overall balance, but I'm not an expert. I would suggest that you do your homework to find a practitioner who is registered, experienced and perhaps comes recommended. Try to meet them and get a feel for whether the personality fit is right before you sign up. In my experience, sensitive practitioners will have a healthy regard for any medical treatment you might be undergoing. Good luck!
Thank you so much. I have checked through the local registered organisations that have links with our health services, and I am hoping this will help with my blood pressure and anxiety. It;s highly likely I will have to have a kidney biopsy shortly and I understand the blood pressure must be stable to undergo this, my anxiety tends to kick in and cause my bp to rise all out of proportion.
However, I am due to have a 24 hr bp monitor attached to me next week, and I know it seems stupid but my anxiety not helping just thinking of this, as you can imagine it will really have an affect on those readings lol.
I will let you know how i get on and I am glad you having this helped you, it really is good to know it can help - again thank you big time x
