kidney infection
I also have a uti, the side affects from the antibiotics are awful. my stomach is in spasms and I ache all over. my skin also feels sore to touch. I'm ringing my renal unit today as I'm sure I shouldn't feel like this.
I'm sorry to hear you are feeling so unwell. Do you have reduced kidney function to contend with as well? I often take cranberry juice to help prevent urinary infections. I hope you are feeling better soon.
Sorry flippy, I hadn't read your other posts. I hope the transplant is ok; I know that I have to be careful what antibiotics I take; I find the GPs don't always know as much as they should about transplanted kidneys. What I am usually given (and everyone is different of course and I woudn't want to give you advice which is not right for you) is a reduced dose of antibiotics, they may take a little longer to work, but will protect the kidney. Keep drinking water as well. I really hope you feel better soon; if in doubt, get yourself to your nearest renal unit.
The renal unit changed my antibiotics but I know have shingles as well. that is what the rash was. I'v never exspienced so much pain. I'm going to my unit today to have my bloods done. so I'm hoping no damage has been done to my transplanteducation kidney.
You poor thing! I had shingles last year and it was awful. Keep on drinking as much as your kidney can cope with. The kidney may suffer in the short term from the shingles, but hopefully with the right treatment it will bounce back. I am glad you are going back to your unit. I dont' want to be disrespectful of GP's, but Just be tenacious, make sure you get treated well! I wish you all the very best.
Thank you .
