Hi bowler, yes, my eyes are puffier than before I was diagnosed with CKD six months ago. I believe puffiness is related to fluid retention, but I'm not a medical professional.

I am up several times in the night for the loo,  it's amazing where this fluid  comes from, perhaps I should cut back on my fluid intake. ?

Suggestion, It's  water retention, ,  I use  Bodystrong, Water gone,, a natural  diuretic, you can buy it on line,, it's more healthier than your typical  over the counter at Cvs or Walgreens, , and it helps,, my eye issue es barely visible,, I only take one a day,, the bottle comes with 360 tabs,, it's around  $13.00, delivered to your mailbox, hope this helps,,Danny

Thanks Danny for your suggestions , but as I'm in the UK    Cvs and Walgreens are a long way to go  Ha Ha,  however,  I'm sure I can look for for a natural  diuretic in one of our health shops.

I to am at stage 3b, my gfr is 43. I too have puffy eyes and I have noticed that my ankles are slightly swollen, along with this I feel fatigued and struggle with this, and the nightly activity to the loo slightly got better when I was given amitriptyline I only visit the loo up to 5x now. I have spoken to my Dr and she said that I shouldn't be experiencing any symptoms yet.

I'm up 3 times in the night,   I use to have swollen ankles but that was due to my blood pressure tablets,  I also had to stop a diuretic tablet   as they were messing up my potassium.   I now take Ramipril and a beta blocker, Bisoprolol for my blood pressure which seems to be under control at the moment.    Like you I feel very fatigued, [ but have been blaming that on my other health issues ]    I always have microscopic blood in my urine, YET my Dr. wont refer me to a nephrologist  till I reach stage 4

I think that our GP's need to start listening to what we are telling them. I too am on Ramipril, statins and omerprazole as at times when I wake I'm nauseous.  I have diverticulitis and arthritis to which I've had ops for both, 5 in total. I think I need to go back to my GP after easter, as I feel that my get up and go, got up and left before I wake up. But we keep smiling ☺

Perhaps your tiredness is due to anaemia, which can happen with CKD   so well worth asking for a blood test for that, especially if you have gastro problems,  as you may not be absorbing the iron,   I also have diverticula, hiatus hernia, and gallstones, and an inflamed stomach due to long term use of steroids for Giant Cell Arteritis,

Like I said well worth asking for a iron blood test,  I did and my B12 was on the low side.

I will go to my GP after easter, do you also have cravings for salt. Tessa

Yes I do,   I could eat salted  nuts and crisps till the cows come home, not good for high blood pressure,

My friend who has very low blood pressure, has been told to up her salt intake, and drink more fluids.!!

Dear Friend,     Puffiness of the eye, especially, in the morning may have different reasons, such as sleeplessness or insomnia, allergy etc. To reduce the puffiness of your eye, splash cold water on your eyes and face. another way is putting cold slices of  cucumber on your eyes for at least 10 minutes. massaging gently around your eyes is beneficial. rubbing special cream underneath your eyes is also beneficial. Good Luck.
