Hi Pauline, I had a hysterectomy 2 years ago and the bleeding went on for 5 weeks. At first it was quite heavy then gradually decreased and had stopped at the end of the 5th week. My friend originally was due for a hysterectomy but the surgeon decided to do a repair for a bad prolapse. She bled for about 10 days heavy for the first 5 days but fine after 10 days. I am sure you will be well monitored for haemoglobin levels and will make a good recovery. As we both have other medical issues at least this was one that was able to be resolved and were both better for the surgery and able to resume life after taking it easy for 6 weeks and avoiding any lifting. Hope this helps and your result is as positive as ours. Love Belle x
