I have just been informed that my reading is 54. What is the best way to improve this? I am 70, fairly active, have an under active thyroid (under control) and high blood pressure - also under control. You comments would be greatly appreciated.

I am not an expert on the kidney side of things, but I too have low thyroid, in fact I have no thyroid and CKD Stage II. I would just try to make sure you are adequately medicated for your thyroid, and you have a good diet. I myself am non-gluten, because I think it makes a difference.
