What I find strange is the wide variation of Egfr numbers described as CKD3. Surely a figure of 57 is much better that say 40, but still stage 3?

Yes it is strange but i think it is because its mid line they have split it in to 3a & 3b! can't remember off hand where you get from a to b!

Stage three is split into stage 3a and stage 3b

3A 45-59 3B 30-44 hope this helps.
