Hi,

It may well be de to the iron? I take it this is your first infusion? Did you receive an information leaflet about the Ferritin infusion and side effects along with your appointment details? I have just had a look at mine, and it says -

"common side effects, i.e. occurring less than 1 in 10 and more than 1 in 100 include -

headache, dizziness, nausea, abdominal pain, constipation, diarrhoea, RASH, and site injection reaction."

Whilst I havn't experienced a rash, I did have flu like symptoms and a temperature within 48 hours, lasting for several days. No rash though, or itching. I had no symptoms to speak of after my 2nd infusion. If worried and it gets any worse, I would ring your Kidney dept, who will be able to give you the best advice.

All the best & hope it fades quickly...........Sharron
