Is there an alternative treatment to dialysis? I've been told that dialysis is not an option, but a medicine is being used instead.

I don't know for certain but think there may be no alternative to dialysis. I would just mention that my husband has found dialysis marvellous for his health and that the only real pain of being on it is the fact that at 70 he feels he prefers to do the dialysis at home which means we are restricted when we want to go out during the day - he feels he's on a treadmill but otherwise is so much better for dialysis.
