hi 2 weeks ago I had kidney function test and gfr was 22. Have had another test and the gfr has gone up to 28 does this happen a lot and does it mean the ckd is getting better. any help would be appreciated

your gfr can go up and down, but I don't think it means ckd is getting better as the damage has already been done x It means that the kidneys are working better and that could be something to do with your diet x

Hi there as googie says this can happen, since my first decrease last May 2012, its been anything from 48 to 55GFR, however it's still standing at stage 3 at the moment, fingers crossed for us all to try keeping our levels on balance as much as we are able to by following orders of our Dr's and Neph's x
