had botox last fall, made my neck muscles very weak and painful, to the point of that doctor would not give it to me again. Have a new Neuro that is going to try iot again tomorrow, stated you can not tell how it will work off of trying 1 time. this will be interesting, wish me luck.

giving botox one more chance
Best of Luck Alley1, I have Cervical Dystonia & had Botox Injections for the first time last October. I found very little change but was told the first treatment is always a lower dose, had to cancel 2nd appointment in January due to flu. I was with my Neuro Consultant on Tuesday last & he's arranged another appointment for Botox as he feels I should benefit more 2nd time round. Not so good news is he also thinks I may have Fibromyalgia which sometimes accompanies Dystonia so a double whammy 👊 👊for me sadly! Hopefully you will feel a difference this time 🍀😉
Good luck with this Alley1! I didnt realize it could cause pain! Tomorrow I am going to a neurologist in hopes of getting Botox against my blinking disorder. I have had what I consider to be a form of neck dystonia since I was 13-14 (am now 60!) which was never diagnosed in spite of many visits to neuros. Blinking and eye irritability began approx 2 yrs ago. It wasn’t until I looked up the eye problem on the web that I discovered that Dystonia is very probably my true ailment. Will keep you informed of my progress🙂
Hi Ally, I am in the UK I have hemi facial spasm plus eye distonia/bleurferism ( think my spelling is wrong ) I get botox every 8 weeks, I have never had pain tho it leaves me with a lop sided face. good luck. x
Hi Alley1, just checking to see how you're feeling after having Botox Injection for the second time, I know it can sometimes take 10 to 14 days for any result, wondering if you notice any difference yet. I've just received an appointment for the 9th of May & it can't come quick enough 😉
Alley ,I was offered botox for my cervical dystonia and after reading about it, i said no way. I am already so weak on my right shoulder already barely can lift my arm. I was also told that they do not always get t right the first time as far as where the needle goes..and I truly do not like needles. I hope it works for you.
