Hi my name is Bammy. My hubby has been a type 2 Diabetic for over 2 years and he's been getting some pain in the top of his feet for a while now. Is this a side effect of his diabetes? Thanks in anticipation of any help.

Hi bammy ,

Here's the link to the free leaflets for Diabetes and Feet Care. The leaflets can be downloaded/listened to/read at anytime. I hope this helps. Go to: drwf.org.uk/understanding-d...

Has your husband seen his doctor about the foot issues? When was his last appointment?

No he hasn't mentioned to his doctor yet , he has other health issues and your only allowed to ask about one problem at each appointment. I think it will be best if he did . Thanks for the link I'll have a look . Bammy

Please have your husband talk/ask his doctor about the feet issues at the next appointment. There may be Neuropathy in the feet. How long has he had foot issues?

You're welcome for the link. It's very helpful! :-)

You're welcome! :-) Hope the doctor can give more information at the appointment. See if he can be seen before the end of this week.

Hi Bammy! I would blame high carbs. in the past. Does your hubby keep hydrated? Water or Diet Tonic water is good.

Dear Bammy

i suggest he inform his diabetic doctor , i dont know were you are but in the uk you get a yearly diabetic foot health review and see a podiatrist who will do a number of tests.

best wishes

Hi James 2 we are in uk west Yorkshire he thinks his diabetes appointment is just about due , these pains are fairly recent so not yet reported in clinic. He had Doppler test last time and that was very good . Bammy

Have you read the free leaflet for feet issues and Diabetes? drwf.org.uk/understanding-d...

When was your last appointment with your doctor?

Yes I have Diabetes II and pains in my heels. Dry cracked heels need plenty of special foot cream. You must look after your feet otherwise you will lose them.

I have my feet and eyes checked by a specialist every year.

Eyes once a year and feet every 3 months. I have problems with both eyes but not bad enough to have laser treatment.
