Hi Jainas. I am 57years old and was diagnosed in 2012. I have been told Although I am not a type 2 I am not quite typically type 1. I am reg as a type 1 and the treatment fits me well. A diabetic specialist nurse told me there are lots of types that is now been recognised and a lot have numbers but no name to them yet. If you look on the Uk Diabetic site you will find lots of info about the different types. As for Ayurveda, sorry know nothing about it

Yes, have a look on Diabetes.co.uk I'm sure that's where I read about the different types, I think I've read of a third type sure it was called Type 1.5. You will find loads of information on there. Sorry I don't know about Ayurveda either.

Yes, I've got a friend who has T1 diabetes and who is also a medical doctor and way back when I was first diagnosed she told me I ought to be seen by a diabetologist because it was possible that I could have had T1 LADA.

I didn't do that though because I'm pretty sure my T2 was exactly that, I mentioned it to the diabetes nurse and she looked at me like I was a bit odd so I didn't mention it again because my HbA1c was back to normal after eating LCHF for three months and testing before and two hours after meals, recording everything I ate and eliminating anything that spiked my blood levels.

Have a look here - it lists all the various types of diabetes and makes interesting reading.
