Well done on 8 days of Drink Free life. All these could be related to withdrawal from alcohol. We have been medicating ourselves with alcohol. You could use overthe counter medication for headaches. As for as sleep goes, try not to take cafinated beverages later than say 5pm. Also a good exercise prior to going to sleep will also help. Also we need 6-7 hours of good sleep so, pushing to a point you absolutely have to sleep will also help. Rest of the time is just tossing and turning. Bulk of the issue that makes us tird is our thinking. We expend enormous amount of energy just thinking. Thats one of the reasons we in AA take an inventory of things that bothers us and try to address them.

It's really normal not to sleep well for a couple of weeks after stopping. Eventually you will sleep better than you have in years as alcohol ruins normal sleep patterns. I had to exercise ( I know ...when you feel tired) a walk or swim will do. Drink cocoa made with milk or camomile with a spoon of honey. If insomnia is threatening your sobriety GP or pharmacist will help. Eight days is fabulous you are breaking the cycle its an amazing achievement.

Good job attempting an escape from the cage! It does and will get better and better! For sleep - lots of sleep teas. Try melatonin also. Stay the course!

Lots of melatonin on Amazon UK Usually very small amounts can help induce sleep 0.25mg sublingual worked for me. Also time release formulas...

I can also recommend Ashwagandha (an adaptogenic herb) for help in falling asleep. Try Flax Oil for Anxiety.
