It's the weekend!!!

This is my 6th day of being af! Which I must say hasnt happened in a very long time! Last night was the 1st friday I havent had a drink in such a long time but instead I spent the evening cleaning which has also freed up my weekend to do no housework! 😁

It's been a refreshing week... realising I do not need to drink so much every evening to relax and after the 1st few nights of having nightmares and bad sleep I am starting to feel more refreshed. It was lovely waking up this morning feeling like I hadnt been hit by a bus!

If I can get through this weekend af it will give me the determination to continue!

Have a fabulous weekend

Well done, I know that morning after, I've been hit by a bus feeling very well. Stay strong to get through the weekend. It feels great doesn't it. Please don't do what I usually do, that's convince myself after a few days abstinence that I will be ok to have just one or two drinks, it doesn't work and I end up back at square one. Good luck and stay strong.

Keep it up, you are doing so well. Its never easy going AF at anytime but weekends do seem to be the hardest. I'm only on Day 15 and yes the drink demons have tried to show up, the boredom and restlessness has kicked in, with strange dreams and insomnia has started but other than all that I'm actually feeling pretty good and confident so stay strong for you, you are worth it OK and good luck

A day at a time I can treat my disease. My purpose in life is to stay sober and help another alcoholic achieve sobriety. Any day I reach that goal, is a good day. By being on this site and posting about your progress, you’re helping me. Thank you.

Just a question if you don't mind me asking.....you said you didn't have to drink so much, does this mean that your not drinking now is just temporary? Or are you now working of staying sober.....many here look for ways to curb their drinking but are still drinking...just didn't want to say the wrong thing.

Hi, very good question 😁 I'm trying to lay off the drink for a while as I've been drinking 1-2 bottles per night for months and it's not been doing me any good.

I'm not saying I wont ever have a drink again but need to keep it to special occasions rather than every night of the week.

7 days now with no alcohol and I honestly cannot remember the last time I had a break from it 😁
