First steps : hello. I’m just 4 days into giving... - Drink Free
First steps
Very. Thats the un-manageability of step 1 of Alcoholics Anonymous. I used alcohol as a crutch. So when I came to know it stopped working for me and that I had to stay stop, I got restless, irritable and discontented. Thank goodness for the book AA and the fellowship, I was able to use the reminder fo the steps to have an attitude shift so I can lead a peaceful life without alcohol.
I can’t stay sober by myself. I need the help of other recovering alcoholics. I found those people in AA. Try a couple of Zoom AA meetings and see what you think. Good luck
hi, are you 6 days sober now? How do you feel now? The effects of walking away from alcohol are different for different people, depending how far the addiction is I guess. If it is an addiction that is.
I have only recently reached out for support as I know things need to change. As I start to look at all the aspects around alcohol use, I’m learning how to deal with certain thoughts. I haven’t had the same desire to buy alcohol, alco frees have really worked for me this week (I don’t get the typical urges) but I was reaching for drink most days.
I feel fresher an in more control as days go on!
