Recovery after Left Pontine stroke

It is my first post here, and I really need some help with any of you who had similar experience. My husband had a stroke 9 days ago which left him with loss od swallowing reflex, speech and mobility. He developed pneumonia and has feeding tube through his nose. He was moved from Hyper Acute Stroke Unit to Rehab ward and started with mild fizio, yesterday he could stand up beside his bed for the first time, legs not paralised, could do some lifts and movements in bed lying down. I’m very concearned about this feeding tube through his nose, is it dangerous, can it cause infections and how long he needs to have it before he starts eating and drinking again? Anyone with similar experience please share. The most frustrating thing is that I can not go visit him given circumstances (covid 19) , communication from his side over the phone is very limited, doctors are saying its gonna be a long recovery.

Thanks in advance for your valuable answers and sharing similar experience.

I had my stroke four years ago it didn’t affect my mobility but it took most of my vision. YES it is a long recovery and nothing will ever be the same. Only thing I can say is lots of patience and and love for your husband it does get better but very slowly take care never give up hope .
