Suggestions anyone?

Hi Everyone! Hi everyone I am new here! I had a mild stroke in June of this year. I was diagnosed with a PFO at the time and underwent a repair in September. While they were repairing the PFO my heart went into a-fib and its been in and out of a-fib ever since. After the stroke I had mild aphasia and memory problems persist! I am a bit frustrated that my memory is still not what it was! I am taking Cardizem, Eliquis, Flecainide and a statin! It is very frustrating at times! Any suggestions out there to improve memory, decrease frustration? BTW I am 52! I know I should feel lucky that it could have been worse but still.....

I am 56 now but had strokes and mitral valve repair and stroke after the surgery due to not getting anticoagulants prescribed when I was 52? It can feel very un fair.

You don’t say if you have any other lingering handicaps. Do puzzles. Read books. Suduko is brain stimulating too. If you can find books where you read the articles then are directed to answering questions about what you have read would also be challenging.

Can you get involved in a book club perhaps.

Where are you located, do you have a support system, are you still working. Feel free to PM me.

Read my bio it will tell you about me. Page down on my posts in my bio area and read “ my thoughts on this awful disesase “ post. Good luck, Cindy

Download.” Wooden block puzzle” and crossword puzzles @ “boatloadpuzzles.com.” Enjoy!

Memory may take some time. I had a stroke in July 2016 and for a short while didn't know where our bathroom is. It took about 14 months to remember the routes to places as I couldn't visualise them. Short term memory such as remembering where I've put my glasses is a work in progress.

They always say "you should feel so lucky, many others havent been",but it does'nt seem to be that way after.

I'VE had 2 strokes, but don't feel doubly lucky.even though perhaps i ought too.

Depression stops me from feeling that way. Don't even mention loneliness

because of very close bereavement. It pains me so much..

Good Luck to you.

2stroke, I agree. Luck would be having this not occur including your loss, extreme down on your luck, awful. I hope you will soon find some peace in your losses, truly, Cindy
