Upper limb inspiration needed

Has anyone out there regained some use of their upper limb 10 months after their stroke? If so I'd love to hear from you and how it all worked. I'm badly in need of some inspiration to keep trying with it.

Please keep on. I don't know where in the country you're getting your care but please keep on.

I've been 7 months after a stroke now and I'm still growing. In fact, I'm focusing more on my leg and foot as these get me around.

I copied what my "good" hand was doing with my "bad" hand, same with my feet. I talked to them too. Didn't get angry. Smiled and laughed a lot.

Stay positive.

I had my stroke 1 year ago and completely lost the use of my left arm i can now use it but it is still a bit weak. I followed the instructions of the physiotherapists but i also talked to my hand Aand arm telling it it used tomdo things before the stroke somthete was nomreason it couldnt work now. Sort of retraining my brain. I also tried to make it work and told myself i wasgoing to get movement back. Maybe i was lucky but the power of positive thinking is amazing. Best of luck and keep trying even if you do feel a bit silly talking to your hand and arm also keep stroking your arm it Keep on trying we may never be 100 apparently lets your brain know it is still thereKeep on trying We may never be as good as we were but almost is better than nothing. Kep on trying. Good luck

I lost use of my right arm and leg 9 months ago I can now walk a bit and use my lower arm but still can't lift it very much but I do know that exercises are the key please keep trying. I set myself small tasks and feel great when I achieve them. Good luck!

Like you i lost the use of my left arm and leg. I can walk with the help of a splint on my left leg to stop it dragging but still have trouble lifting it up(feels like i have a weight on it) but still have trouble with my left shoulder as i fell and dislocated it, wasnt found out for 6 weeks as they thought it was due to my stroke, Try and practise lifting light things but cannot raise it up above my head without the use of my right hand and i had my stroke in 2014 but haven't quite given up yet - just get frustrated with myself

Had two strokes eighteen months ago and am still working on my leg and arm. Some good days, some bad but don't give up. I'm so thankful that I can at least get about on my own albeit very slowly. Very frustrating at times though.
