HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN A DIABETIC??

1. START ON METFORMIN 850 TWICE DAILY

2.DIET CONTROL- DO NOT HAVE ANYTHING THAT GROWS UNDER SOIL, EG-POTATOES, TAPIOCA,ETC

3.CUT DOWN ON QUANTITY OF FOOD

4.EXERCISE-WALK, SWINGING YOUR ARMS AT A GOOD PACE FOR A MINIMUM OF TEN MIN IRRESPECTIVE OF DISTANCE , MORNING AND EVENING

5.DRINK A LOT OF WATER

6.DO NOT HAVE ANYTHING MADE OUT OF MAIDA. MAIDA DOES NOT CONTAIN SUGAR, BUT IT INCREASES SUGAR LEVELS BY PRODUCTION OF GLUCAGONE.

7.DO YOUR HBA1C TEST.

8.TEST AFTER 7 DAYS..........LET ME KNOW

I came to know about a month ago.

Age : 50, Not other health issue.

Male, my father has diabetes.

Weight : 68 kgs, height : 6 ft

Medicine taking : Metformin 500 mg twice daily

Glyname half tablet of 5 mg once daily

1 Leisure cap. daily

In my opinion your sugar level is still way above acceptable limits even after taking Metformin and other medication. If you are not seeing a diabetologist (endicronologist) please do so immediately. Your sugar level post prandial should not be more than 140. High sugar levels have serious implications.

Thank you all for the better suggestions given I will check my blood sugar levels once again and will write to you, how ever my cholestrol reading was 148 about six months ago,Please explain me what this HbA1c test is, I will under go that test also. thank you once again

I have had diabetes for about 10yr currently on metformin 1000 mg twice a day and Glimepiride 4mg once a day. I just had a an A1c of 6.9 1month ago. Yesterday I got a lower lumbar puncture. They said it would spike my sugars wich normaly run 147 and under now right now my morning fast sugar was 315 now after meds 305 but its not stable what do i do?
