My experience is that in he initial stages of diabetes,Doctors will depend on tablets(coupled with proper exercise and diet) to control the sugar levels,A stage may come when heavy doses of medicines in tablet form will not be able to control the sugar levels. Then the Doctor will prescribe Insulin(which is costlier and rather painful).Best leave it to the Doctor to decide.Since Diabetes is not a disease but a condition,we have to manage it appropriately with professional help.Compliance with the Doctor's advice is a must. They say that the most important person in controlling diabetes is Y O U.

Pens with very small needles are indeed very good and painless for taking insulin doses.Besides it can be carried comfortably & injected during Journeys also.
