Are oats bad?: Here's a video talking about... - Diabetes India
Are oats bad?
My case, i have been seeing those effects after starting to eat oats.May be different from body to body.
Substantial increase in triglycerides and ppbs levels that was never in the past, seen after oats regime. Even other symptoms like foot joint pain and itching started.
All these are mentioned by him in the video too.
Hi vyas123 ,
Have you talked to your doctor about eating oats and/or changing your diet before eating the oats? Have you been tested for allergies?😀👍
how much increase in triglyceride and ppbs levels? I eat instant oats every day and don't notice a significant increase ... or decrease
Thank you for this information. My triglycerides increased from 150 to 275. Hba1c 5.6 to 6.1. ppbs never crossed 159 or 160. It went up to 275 but it is not measured after eating oats but after dosas in the restaurant. With that kind of breakfast like dosas, it was never more than 150 or 160 in the past.
I have been eating steel-cut oats for a long time and have had no adverse effects. Avoid rolled or instant oats, since they are not advised for people with diabetes. As an alternative, you can try green gram (unhusked) dosa.
I understand that Oats was meant for Horses. Because of its high fiber content it is being considered for Diabetes. I have known some people becoming worse after taking Oats for some period.
