HbA1c>7%, a measure of average blood sugar may increase the risk of major adverse cardiovascular events (MACE) in diabetes patients over 70 years of age, a recent study has found. The results of the study, published in the journal Primary Care Diabetes, emphasize on the importance of glycated hemoglobin A1c (HbA1c) levels on the occurrence of cardiovascular events in older diabetic patients.
