When I went for eye test, there was cataract on both eyes but Indian qualified doctors tried to correct the cataract with glasses, what wast of time and money!!

I had cataract operation in both my eyes, not due to diabetic, one eye OK after the operation, the other eye had side effect and was corrected by laser correction!!

It is imperative eye examination is done once a year with photo of the internal eye.

Cholesterol deposit can also seen in the photo.

Take good care of your eyes.

Very true.If one is diabetic and advancing in years ,better to get it done at early stage itself.I had both my eyes done when I was about seventy and now my eye sight is near perfect.It is also easier to recoup when you are relatively younger.Now,ln India,surgeons are recommending for early surgeries.Treatment is also very good.

The main causes of blindness among senior citizens are cataract, diabetic retinopathy, glaucoma and age-related macular degeneration.

In order to prevent blindness, every person should consult an ophthalmologist and check the retina and optic nerve (fundoscopy) once in every six months
