5-a day culture! There is a problem.

Very interesting read.

Because of allergy I am unable to eat fresh veg and fruits, when we were discussing this my grandson asked, "what about 5- day?" New generation!!!

For years it's been suffered mainly by Italians and Spaniards, but now, Britain's five-a-day obsession is triggering a frightening new allergy.

Britons are now chugging 898 million litres of fruit juices and smoothies a year.

This is no doubt sparked on in part by the desire to hit our five-a-day target. But, according to some experts, our fruit and veg obsession has come at a cost.

We have been advising people for years on this platform stop drinking fruit juices, they are not healthy in general and very unhealthy for diabetics.

I eat a lot more than 5 a day, but am allergic to some, so stick to what I can take.

I suspect I need grapes for the resviterol to help with the thrombocytosis and bananas for rehydration and for my gut FOS to name two.

I am not good on vegetables, but do have carrots and sweet potatoes along with spinach and broccoli. I have to be careful with the belladonna and not good on salads and cucumbers. Not good on other greens and not too much spinach. Fruit juices and smoothies aren't much good to me, better to have the whole foods and my body to digest them - that is what bodies are supposed to do, but know it can be difficult at times and if they work for others all well and good - we are all different.

There are a lot of nutrients in fruit and veg that cannot be acquired from other foods, so I believe at least some of us need lots of them especially if prone to infection - vitamin C is one I need.

What are you allergic?, if the fruits are cooked can you eat them?

Can you peal veg? I am allergic to many things from small age!

I do not eat many fruits, only cooked veg.

Kiwi, aubergine family, citrous fruits, apples, pears, cucumbers, potatoes, tomatoes and more. I peel carrots and sweet potatoes.

I looked at the video and article and I think mixing so many different things together could well set off an AS for me. I need to eat no more than 3 different foods at one time. I have read that this is all the body can produce the right enzymes to digest, for.

Very interesting.

In fact, very fascinating.
