Beta blockers some times cause atherosclerosis apart from causing diabetes risk . People previously did not not have diabetes could develop the symptoms of diabetes . in some cases they reduce cardiac out put and prevent peripheral vasodilatation .
Even statins which are used for reducing cholesterol levels specially LDL , levels of triglycerides and the risk of blood clots some times increase the sugar levels . Once the levels of cholesterol up to 200 mg were considered normal . But as the time goes on the safer levels are coming down which are making the prescription valid day by day . But excess use of Statins leads to liver damage ,neurological problems and increased blood sugar levels . The people should know the harmful effects of all these medications before blindly going for them . Prabably excess use of these could be the reason for more number of people suffering with peripheral neurology . Once the nerves are damaged it is an irreversible phenomenon .
