Is anybody using the chandraprabha vati? How useful is it in diabetes?
Chandraprabha vati: Is anybody using the... - Diabetes India
Chandraprabha vati
Chandraprabha Vati does not lower the blood sugar level but helps to correct the metabolic activities (digestive, urinary, reproductive). It is generally used with other Ayurvedic antidiabetic medicines.
I had read somewhere that it helps in lowering blood glucose and also helps purifying blood.
Do you have any personal experience of using it?
Well.. not personally, but in my practice yes. And like I said, just chandraprabha wouldn't help. It is always given with other Ayurvedic antidiabetic medicines.
Thanks for your suggestions.
Chandraprabha vati can useful in urinary tract infections even can use for burning micturition. I also using along with Gokshura caps for Prostitis and getting good results
Thanks for your valuable reply. Any effect on blood sugar?
Keep an open mind and test it out yourself - see if it helps to lower your BS or improve your diabetic condition. The kidneys play a central role in the genesis of diabetes in TCM. In TCM, the left kidney is Yin while the right one is Yang and in TCM, diabetes is considered a deficiency of Yin, hence the high body temperature and heat typically experienced. A basic healing strategy in TCM is to supplement Six Flavor Tea Pills which help to increase the Kidney Yin essence.
Chandraprabha vati (CV) may well be the TAM equivalent to Six Flavor Tea Pills often recommended in TCM as it addresses the point/organ of diabetic origin. At the following web site (link below), I found that, amongst other things, CV is intended to address the following issues (specific to diabetes), among other ailments: Proteinurea, Prameha – Urinary tract disorders, diabetes, Effect on Tridosha – balances Vata, Pitta and Kapha.
And at the CV website is appended this end note :
"As ingredient in proprietary Ayurvedic medicines: Chandraprabha Bati is used as ingredient in many other Ayurvedic medicines such as Glucova tablet, used in the treatment of Non Insulin Dependent Diabetes Mellitus."

Oh, I found another BOLD claim at the following website:
"Regular use of Chandraprabha Vati is highly beneficial for the patients with diabetes. It helps in controlling the blood sugar levels and prevents the complications of diabetes such as diabetic nephropathy, cataract, recurrent infections, and neuralgia. It also helps to relieve the symptoms of diabetes like increased urination, unusual thirst, and increased appetite. It works by supporting the functions of the pancreas and thus, increasing the production of insulin. Hence, it is considered effective for treating type 1 or insulin-dependent diabetes. It can also be used to treat type 2 diabetes that occurs due to insulin resistance. Chandraprabha Vati reduces insulin resistance by 88% and increases the uptake and utilization of glucose by the cells."

Thanks for the new and in detail information. What is TCM?
You're welcome. I take Divya CV (two tabs once a day), and am not sure what kind of impact it has on me as I also dose on others too (Divya Gugul,Divya Shilajeet).
TCM - Traditional Chinese Medicine
TAM = Traditional Ayurvedic Medicine
Are you a diabetic ? are you managing it with ayurvedic medicines only ? if so what is HbA1c level ?
Yes, I am. I used Ayurvedic medicine (Himalaya brand Abana, Arjuna, Diabecon DS and others) as adjuncts to metformin which does not appear to work as well as before. I've been taking MF for easily 18 yrs. I started doing iodine 2 months ago and am waiting to see how well it impacts the system. Am going to start dosing diatomaceous earth soon. Every now and then I'd add the Six Flavor Tea Pills for kidney health. No, never done HbA1c. I think a whole day liquid fast is the most effective for dropping BS.
In my opinion all the Ayurvedic medicines you mentioned can be taken as supplements if they suit you but the most important part of diabetes management is monitoring your blood glucose levels frequently at home especially if you add something new to your diet or start a medication and getting the HbA1c done after every 3 months is very important and helpful in making us aware of the real status .I take Diabecon DS after lunch but dropped Chandraprabha & Madhunashini vati (Patanjali ) long time back as I found them to be not at all effective. Now I am managing with Metformin 500 mg.twice a day and LCHF diet pretty well. By the way what type of liquids you take during the fast ?
I also use diabecon ds and found it very useful.
Re the liquid fast: 2-3 liters of water with an occasional mug of tea, coffee or milo/horlicks (malted drink). No solid food whatsoever.
I think that supplements like antioxidants and the Vit B complex + minerals + others (ALA, gluthatione, silymarin, ginkgo, Q10, etc ) are necessary to prevent diabetic complications. This is where the TCM & TAM supplements have proven their worth too and many of their combo formulations are specifically directed at the major organs like heart, liver, kidneys, lungs, bladder, the big players if you will. As the saying goes, prevention is better than cure, so being proactive with nutritional supplementation is the wiser approach.
It is not just about regulating BS. Even when diabetics are able to tightly regulate their BS within the normal range, they are still prone to develop diabetic complications like neuropathy, retinopathy, cardiac issues - and the list goes on and on.
Thank you very much, this is useful information for me. I am 58 years male having diabetes since last 20 years.
