How to know if it's type 1 or type 2 sugar
Beta cells of pancreas (islets of Langerhans) produce an insulin-like enzyme. This is not pure insulin. It disintegrate into human insulin and C-peptide. The quantity of human insulin can not be measured. But the quantity of insulin is estimated by measuring C-peptide.
C-peptide is released at the same time as insulin. For each molecule of insulin produced there is a molecule of c-peptide. C-peptide does not itself influence blood sugar. C-peptide is a useful marker of insulin production because c-peptide tends to remain in the blood longer than insulin.
By measuring C-peptide, your doctor can infer whether the diabetic patient belongs to type 1 or type 2.

Hi I am type 1 diabetic, as per my suggestion please ask your wife to take readings fasting, Postlunch, random sugars continuously for 1 week check out the readings and note down every day with Accucheck. She can observe which time her readings are becoming high, based on that she can control the diet, medicine and increase the workouts. Generally type 1 will be diagnosed before 20 years of age and should take insulin, type 2 will be tablet dependent
TENIVA M TABLET (INTAS) Consists of two generic drugs viz., Metformin 500 MG+Teneligliptin 20 MG.
Metformin is used alone or with other medications, including insulin, to treat type 2 diabetes (condition in which the body does not use insulin normally and, therefore, cannot control the amount of sugar in the blood). Metformin is in a class of drugs called biguanides. Metformin helps to control the amount of glucose (sugar) in your blood. It decreases the amount of glucose you absorb from your food and the amount of glucose made by your liver. Metformin also increases your body's response to insulin, a natural substance that controls the amount of glucose in the blood.
Teneligliptin is a pharmaceutical drug for the treatment of type 2 diabetes mellitus. It belongs to the class of anti-diabetic drugs known as dipeptidyl peptidase-4 inhibitors or "gliptins".
