Diabetic- a slow poison
It is nothing like a slow poison. It is just a difficult condition that you have to live with constantly. But,if you take good care of yourself and control the diabetes, there is no reason you should not live long and healthy life.In my experience, educating our self with all aspects of diabetes coupled with some willpower will be critical factors in diabetes management.
How can it be a slow poison ? It forces you to lead a very regulated and disciplined life. You live longer than non diabetic person.
I go for quarterly check ups and an annual medical check up.All the medical parameters such as liver, kidney,BP etc are within range,in spite being a diabetic for about 20 yrs and 75 yrs of age.I am sure I would not have taken such good care of myself but for the diabetes. In that sense,I said it is not a slow poison.Of course,it is for each individual to experience life in their own terms.
Sir thts amazing. 2 days back i discovered high numbers during regular checkup. Its fasting 139 and 230 pp. My HbAc1 is 7.8 . My dr has given me meds and suggested diet and exercise . I am giving ayurveda a shot which has cured me earlier of a incurable female issue. Drs are hopeful that it can be revered or controlled within limits. Can u suggest what should i do ?
I think you are on track because one important measure to control diabetes is to take advise from other diabetics who have succeeded in their efforts. This web site will take care of that. You have to gain good knowledge about diabetes, since you alone can take care of yous condition unlike other problems where the doctors and hospitals play a critical role.Next you should be conscious about your diet, like what, how much and when you eat.You should get familiar with terms like glycemic index, glycemic load and sugar spikes.Equally important is what kind of life style you lead.It will be of great help if you lead an active lifestyle.Try walking or ply game like shuttle. To balance all these efforts, you may have take medications prescribed by a competent doctor.Go for annual complete health check and quarterly reviews. This is essential because all diabetic may face complications.Follow medical advise scrupulously.Managing diabetes is a tough task but it is possible. You only need to be focussed.
Thanks for a heads up sir!Can you suggest a diet plan that can be followed for long. I keep myself active throughout the day.
You have to follow certain general guidelines and workout adiet plan for yourself bases on your cultural background, taste preferences, age and level of physical activity. For example, avoid addedsugar completely lncluding sweets, pastries etc.Avoid root vegetables like potato, beet etc that are rich in starch. You may prefer fruits like papaya which are not very sweet.Cereals lke wheat and rice to be eaten ln limited quantitied.Avoid junk food. Mixed sprouts, nuts like almond and walnuts, vegetables and greens ars diabetes friendly. They can be made delicious by proper garnishing.Overall, you have to be moderate in eating and always go for variety.Monitor regularly at home and adjust your food intake suitably. You should also be aware of hypoglycemia and how to handle it.
LCHF hypocaloric diet along with intermittent fasting is the way. Exercise is great booster to mitochondrial health, do it regularly. Medicines don't cure us in any way.
