Hello everyone I am 39 year old and living in Guyana I was recently diagnosed with type 11 diabetes it is not controlled and my numbers are often three hundred plus. Can you guys give me any advice. I am currently using a pill called gliclazide

U mean type1? U wrote type11.

Read about lchf diet that shud help. High good fat and low carbs. Avoid all whitw food rice dehusked grains etc. White bread white flour etc.

Once u read about lchf diet please feel free to adk qs. We have lots of experts but mostly indian diets.

Eat eggs they r good.

U shud say yr age and weight. If u r obese than u shud cut calorie gradually. U shud also control yr Carb from diet. It shud be 150 around. It will control gradually b'coz sudden changing in food habit will lead u to hypo effect. In such condition u shud consult dietician for 150carb diet chart and also consult yr regular diabetic doc.

One should take carbs according to one's clearing capacity. As per lchf concept it's 100g maximum.

There are two types of fuel that our body can use. Glucose and ketones. Since we are poor at using glucose as a fuel we should use ketones. We as diabetics should always try to eat keto diet. Carbs as little as possible.

Sir.

But in this help u see he /she is freshly detected diabetic and it is uncontrolled means he/she may take high carb. So u can't directly switch on to ke to diet. As u know keto diet is almost 0 to 30 carb diet. So from high carb to keto diet is dangerous. So from for initial stage high carb to medium carb and than keto carb. As he/she mention uncontrolled sugar so primarily medium carb for control sugar. Than keto. How one can come from 300 to 30 carb in one step.

I didn't say 30 g. But yes. I believe to go for 100g carbs Or less per day straightaway. There is nothing like weaning from carbs. i did it when i became grain free. This is my opinion. I'd love to hear from others too.

Thanks for clearing that up because I got really sick when the doc prescribed that I go from the high carb to keto and I started eating the way I used to minus the sugar n sugary foods.

Keto diet means to eat less than 20gm carb.so here we can say LCHF diet.

When ever I visit my doc he always tells me what I should not eat and when I ask what are the foods I should be eatin I never get a positive answer he goes right back to what I should not eat.... I am confused and keeps loosing weight

U r 135lbs age 39 than it is ok.5to10lbs more than reqd. But no problem. U r quiet healthy. Firast of all u track all meal breakfast snacks. Fond out how much CARB u eat. According to yr present reading u must be eating 225 to 275 carb. U just reduce yr carb up to 150 carb in first phase. If u eat nonveg also than u daily take 2 hard boiled egg. Fish twice a week. Tanduri chicken or homemade chicken masala once a week. Other day u can take green leafy vegetables like sinach,kale. Eat salad daily with olive oil dressing. If possible cook all food in EVCO. Eat atleast 1oz. Nuts everyday. Drink low fat milk atleast 120ml. U can also drink almond milk or coconut milk. If u eat chapati than it shud be made from fortified wheat flour. Eat daily atleast 4gm flaxseed. DON'T eat direct or indirect sugar in any form. If u eat packed/tinned food than always read lable. There is also a method how to read lable on such type of packed/tinned food. Don't eat trans fat. Eat everyday atleast 1 apple.

Above all things depending upon yr lifestyle as well as daily required food intake. Just decide it and distribute all food in two meal one morning breakfast,morning snacks and evening snacks. Each meal shud be designed such a way that carb content shud not increase by 45 to 60gm. Each snack shud be designed such a way that carb content shud not increase by 15 to 20gm. Many other factors are also affect diabetes. Don't take it lightly as u r 39 yr. U r younger. So be carefull
