For those under the delusion that type 2 diabetes is not a disease, here is the dictionary definition:

Dis - ease.

Seems the word "condition" is to be preferred instead, as in:

"Diabetes is a lifelong condition that causes a person's blood sugar level to become too high." ( - from nhs.uk).

Also described as a "metabolic disorder" . . . . . . coming closer to a disease ?
