More and more research is emerging to suggest several health benefits associated with drinking coffee, from helping prevent DIABETES to lowering liver cancer.
Coffee is a great source of antioxidants and very low on calorie. A regular cup of black coffee ( without sugar, milk or cream ) contains around 2 calories. Of course the calorie count will go up with addition of sugar and milk.
How it protects against type2 diabetes--- drinking coffee increases a type of protein in blood which controls the biological activity of body's sex hormones ( progesterone and oestrogen) ,which play a role in development of type 2 DIABETES.
It also has beneficial effect on heart,if taken in moderation.
It is claimed that it reduces the risk of ED in men.
It also has beneficial effect on liver cirrhosis and liver carcinoma and Parkinson's.
Please remember no more than 2 cups per day. Have a nice coffee day.

Very pertinent points. No doubt caffeine is CNS stimulant and it does raise blood pressure, but everything depends on how much caffeine you take. It is generally recommended to keep your intake below 200 mgs. of caffeine. Now how much a regular cup of coffee contains caffeine? Freshly brewed cup contains around 90 mg, instant coffee around 60 mgs and espresso contains 65 mgs. of caffeine.so, two cups a day is fine with no side effects but many benefits.
Arun Kumar, I am quoting guidelines on caffeine intake. " European Food and Safety Authority in 2015 has published their scientific opinion on the safety of caffeine, advertising that caffeine intake from all sources upto 400 gms per day and single dose of 200mgs do not raise safety concerns for adults in general population.
