Of course thee will be little evidence for anything against STATINS when one wants to PUSH statins. Doubt if Sanjay Gupta has ever looked at latest research and findings. This looks like one of the scripts handed over by STATIN Industry.

This looks like a sales promotion article on STATINS. The consumption of STATINS in 2000 in Sweden jumped by 3 times compared to 1998 and yet there was no visible improvement in heart attacks etc. Oh yea, someone will say (without proof of course) that's because of Butter. Statins are OK for 1%, useless for 99%. It's ok for people who have had history of CVD/CHD.

If Cholesterol causes CVD/CHD related deaths, then Dr Gupta should probably explain why out of 100,000+ sample size of CHD/CVD related deaths 50%+ had normal LIPIDS. He WON'T for sure.

To me this article sounds like coming from "Speakers" that Pharma companies PAY to speak in favor, where they are given the script and slideshows also.

Yes CoQ10 doesn't work because it cannot be patented. Nothing unusual here. It's the same old story being told over and over again. Anything that cannot be patented will never work and his is the propaganda as usual.

BTW, Statin use has been linked to memory decline in the elderly.

Also, worth taking a look at:

It just can't be that only Sanjay Gupta is right. Looks like he is a PAID speaker.

Dr David Diamond, an American neuro-scientist and professor attached to the University of South Florida rightly says --

"The pharma industry could be called the fear industry, because it thrives on fear of what are often imaginary demons made up to boost sales of a particular drug. "

Also in the article it notes:

"And these professional associations, consisting of experts, are hugely funded by big pharmaceutical firms who use them to promote the sales of their products, often by a deliberate distortion of facts."

Precisely what we have been saying too. Associations and bodies protect the interest of their donors. This is why every disease is on the rise. Culprit -- BROKEN DIET aka USDA Pyramid/Plate
