With such massive commercialization, professionals can be even more unprofessional. Keep your eyes and ears open, keep studying, listen to everyone, but do only what your mind says is best. Do not be a goat and hand over yr rope to a Doctor who wants to milk you and then butcher you.

By the way, My Doctor, an MD and ex Army Colonel, 5 yrs younger than me is on insulin injections, looks 10 yrs older than me and asked me what is the reason behind my energy. I told him - a glass of urine every morning. Really? he asked. If I drink more liquor any evening, then I drink 2 glasses. It brings back the masti. My dear the professionals keep learning from us.
When I was young i had halucinations after overdose of whiskey, rum, charas and ganja spread over 2 and half days on a week end. My wife took me to a Professor and Head of Deptt in Medical college in Davangere. After some time he asked my wife to wait out. "Tell me what all you had and how? Man you had a real good time and still having it."

Your wife must be a very happy lady. This was a survey result in the 70's. Engineers wives are the happiest. Doctors very low. When wife needed, they gave her a mood elevator. The lawyers were bottom most in the list- such liers, their wives did not trust them at all.
The reference to the liver is a very valid one and should be heeded by everyone. I am glad it was finally brought up into the discussion of the subject. Thank you!.
Unfortunately, it is always a balancing act, especially when it comes to medications and where, invariably, every synthesized medicine has its own side effects. I do not know much about alcoholism and its ill effects on the various organs since I am not a drinker. Besides, I did not think that alcohol has ever been considered as a treatment for diabetes. Just the opposite.
