My husband has pancreas problem he is 38 years old his having enzimes after meals his sugar level on fasting is 118 nd after breakfast 128
VNR,
Let your husband not get panicky. He has to live with this disorder for many more years to come unless a fool-proof pancreas transplant is established in India. Let him understand that he is young and the medical field is on its fast track and very soon they might come out with a solution to this dreaded menace. Fasting 118 and PP sugar 128 is nothing abnormal and he can live happily. Let him do regular exercise, walking and intake of food at amny intervals instead of 3 times a day. Let him change the food habits and switch over to Millets based food and fruits. I am a living example for this even though my fasting sugar is more. I stopped insulin after using it for more than 12 years. I stopped it not just because my sugar level has come to normal, but because of nil improvement in my health. In fact I get tired very easily because of Insulin. Once again, this particular disorder is highly individualistic and cannot have a common scale. Individuals should understand their metabolism by observing the reactions/ changes/ variations in sugar levels due to the type of food they take etc., One can easily understand by experimenting with the food he/she takes and monitor the sugar levels.
Half an hour to 45 minute walk every morning and evening will have a remarkable effect on one's sugar level. Once again I tried it and felt the improvement. As you get older, even this is getting a little bit difficult for me.
You will be surprised to know about my eating habits being followed by me. Morning- green tea without sugar, one handful of soaked peanut as break fast with a little bit of palm sugar/ karupetti. for lunch i take 3 pieces of badam, 2 nos date fruit, 1 fig (atthi Pazham) and one table spoon of sathu maavu urundai (a mix of sprouted millet flour with some jaggery). Evening one orange/ an apple, and night some millet rice like Kudirai valli rice with vegetables-one full cup will do for me. Initially, you will find it difficult to adjust, but try to follow this for a week and you will get used to this. I just wated to share my experience with you since you have written that your husband is uncomfortable. Let him NOT get panicky first.
Good news is that your husband is not yet diabetic, he is pre-diabetic. This is also known as metabolic syndrome.
