I am diabetic for last 19 years. Whenever I try to do Pranayam I catch Cold andThroat infection the very next day.What could be the reason
Some people do Pranayama forcibly thinking that it will be effective. Pl do it slowly. There should not be any strain! What is the cycle followed. Inhale, hold , exhale, hold...repeat.
Stop doing Pranayam, as simple as that!

If you are following the right pranayam in the right way, you should not get those infections. As per my personal experience, I also used to have throat infections and catch cold very frequently. But after starting pranayam (kapalbhati, anulom-vilom and bhastrika) I am not getting those infections at all. In fact, if I don't do or skip pranayam for more than a week, I feel the difference in my body and I don't feel active or fully healthy.
So it is very much important to practice it in right way. I followed baba-ramdev's videos for pranayamas and followed some articles on Internet. Hope you find the right way doing pranayam and get benefit from it.

when ever we start yoga ,impurities(dosha) starts coming out of your body.i think its a good sign that yoga is working.however you have to control the quantity, so that impurities coming out of body is within tolerable limits

Do pranayamam with the proper yoga teacher as it happens due to wrong practice of doing it.However take Thriphala Churan with warm water in the morning & evening before meals.Take a juice in combination of Cucumber+Bittergourd+long gourd daily in the morning until you are fully cured.Revert back to me & Good luck.

Practice the prayanamas mentioned by swamyonline, with the following precautions:
a) Cover your chest either with a baninan, if the environment is not cold or breezy, and with a T shirt or shirt, if it is. During te practice of Pranayam, the body metobolism undergoes some change necessarily, due to heat generation;
b) Learn and do some breathing, loosening exercises, prior to doing Pranayam;
c) Give a few minutes gap after step (b) above, before commencing Pranayam;
d) End the practice with shavasana and meditation.
This should take care of your problem.
