my blood sugar is 71 pp on home glucometer pls help

Results of home testing could be tricky sometimes.Treat such results as indicative and do not depend on them for any conclusion.Go for a test in a reputed lab and test your BS with your glucometer also at the same time.Then you can know how accurate is your meter.

I am using "one touch select simple"gluco meter.Which does not require calibration at home. As explained by indiacratus I have tested simultaniously in the lab and by gluco meter In my case both are almost same and the variation is very negligible say in decimal percentage only.

Your PP level is certainly very low & you may land in hypoglycemia, which is a worst case than Hyperglycemia. You may pass out with such low sugar levels into diabetic induced coma & that would be very bad to say the least.You haven't indicated the medicine or injections that you may be taking. In any case, immediately see you doctor & review your reading & also check calibration of your meter. Better still get checked in a reputed lab for Fasting, PP & HBA1C.

I SUGGEST YOU HAVE BLOOD SUGER CHECHED AT REPUTED LAB. PP 71 IS TOO LOW. THERE COULD BE AN ERROR IN READING OR THE GLUCOMETER MAY BE FAULTY. I FURTHER SUGGEST YOU TO CARRY YOUR HOME GLUCOMETER WHEN YOU GO TO LAB AND REQUEST THE LAB PERSON A DROP OF BLOOD ON YOUR STRIP AND CHECK SUGAR LEVEL INSTANTLY. YOU ALSO CHECK BLOOD SUGAR AS U NORMALLY DO AT HOME AND YOU WILL FIND THE DIFFERENCE IN THE READINGS ON YOUR BLOOD SUGAR AS THE SOURCE OF BLOOD IS DIFFERENT. LATER WHEN YOU GET LAB RESULT REVERIFY THE READINGS WITH THE SAMPLE OF BLOOD TAKEN AT LAB AND TESTED ON YOUR INSTRUMENT. YOU WILL KNOW THE AUTHENTICITY OF YOUR INSTRUMENT. IF THERE IS HUGE VARIATION YOU MAY TALK TO THE PATHOLOGIST AS ALSO YOUR CONSULTING PHYSICIAN.

(1) SAME SAMPLE OF BLOOD TAKEN IN LAB BUT TESTED DIFFERENT WAY

(2) BLOOD SAMPLE TAKEN DIFFERENT WAY AND TESTED DIFFERENT WAY - HOME INSTRUMENT & LAB.
