Jabul is wrong. Actually it is Jamul Fruit freely available in Villages and suburban area of India. It is Violet colored pulpy fruit, sweet and sour in taste. The seed-extract is Jamul-Ki-Ras, Available in Mumbai Bottled, from Guju-swetmeet Stores (Matunga-Maheshwari Udhyan). In cities like Mumbai, from any market and roadside vendors fruits are available, which also is good med.for diabtics. It is seasonal fruit.

In, Hindi Jamul Fruit. Tamil and Malayalam is 'Jnaval Pazham' eaten by famous Bhakta Shabari, Felled by Murugan (Kartik-son of Shivan), as mischivious Prodigy Child testing the Deep Bhakti of Bhakta Shabari. Famous singer K.B.Sundarambal had her wonderful song praising Kartik (Murga), "Jnanappazhatthe Pizhindu..."
