You have got diabetic neuropathy. Diabetic neuropathy is damage to nerves in the body that occurs due to high blood sugar levels from diabetes. Nerve injuries are caused by decreased blood flow and high blood sugar levels. They are more likely to develop if blood sugar levels are not well controlled.

About half of people with diabetes will develop nerve damage. Most of the time symptoms do not begin until 10 to 20 years after diabetes has been diagnosed.

Pregabalin is used to relieve neuropathic pain (pain from damaged nerves) that can occur in your arms, hands, fingers, legs, feet, or toes if you have diabetes

It may be true that the blood sugar is normal now. But I don't think that you have maintained blood sugar level normal all the time.Fasting blood sugar should be less than 100 mg/dL and post-prandial blood sugar should be less than 140 mg/dL in order to avoid diabetic complications. Diabetic neuropathy occurs in chronic cases even if your blood sugar is normal..

Nerves are damaged because glucose is not metabolized normally and because the blood supply is inadequate. Legs suddenly or gradually weaken.

People have reduced sensation, tingling, and pain in their hands and feet.

Blood sugar-->elevated cholesterol--> atherosclerosis--> Low supply of oxygenated blood to the peripheral nerves--> slow death of nerve cells --> Diabetic peripheral neuropathy.

Nerve cells are specialized tissue and once if damaged, it will not be replaced by a new tissue. Hence diabetic neuropathy has no cure. But treatment is available to control pain. When you stop medication, the symptoms will reappear.

Thank u, Dear Nair. Age 64, Type Ii, Veg and under medication. I get sole soft, sometime burning and no proper grip, etc. It is due to neuropathy. Dr.gave medicines to this effect, although my diabetic is 80 fasting and 160 pp. Why i analysed and Dr.confirmed it is due to heavily smoking in the past. I am trying to control and give it UP. May I know where do i get PREGABALIN in chennai if it is medicine or any alternate. i do not get adjusted with homeo, aurvedic, sidda. pls suggest me. thanks in advance.

Indication: Treatment of neuropathic pain in adult.

Dosage: 70 - 150 mg two times in a day (bid),. May increase up to 600 mg/day in patients with ongoing pain and can tolerate 300 mg/day.

Contraindications: Hypersensitivity.

Side effects: Dizziness, drowsiness, visual disturbance,(including blurred vision, diplopia i.e, double vision), ataxia (defective muscular control resulting in irregular and jerky movements), dysarthria (impairment of articulation; stammering), tremor (involuntary trembling), lethargy, memory impairment, euphoria (exaggerated sense of wellbeing), weight gain, constipation, dry mouth, confusion, agitation.

Pregablin 75 or 150 or pregab NT all are controlling your nerves. otherwise the same medicine is also using for epilepsy or any other type of seizures. initially if you are taking this medicine, good for sound sleep(like sleeping Pills). but you will realise after some time that without this medicine you can't sleep. if you are taking this medicine, normally in night time. the next day will also feel like sleepy. avoid this medicine unless if your peripheral Nueropathy is disturbing you too much of your night sleep. Control sugar level by diets. make compulsory exercise like walking and take the medicine for sugar regularly. even after that your sugar is not in control, go for insulin....try latest DPP-4 medicine like vildagliptin, sitagliptin group of medicine....

Yes it's right. After body servicing they will send us home. After that if we do not follow them very well, there is no use of it again.......for that wat is the solution?
