always get in touch with Nutritionists. Dieticians, - Discussions, interaction with qualified hospital staff, any person's practical experiences of life, in life, could be a blessing in disguise. Thus, information from anyone, whomsoever, nay quarter can always be useful. Doctors too can be asked same question; hear what each one has to offer on your query; then pls share with us all, it's been used primarily in Mediterranean countries but I ain't sure about India or tropical countries or????? God bless us ALL with good health

Diabetes mellitus elevates blood cholesterol. Low consumption of oil is beneficial to the heart. Use no more than 5 - 8 teaspoons of fats or oils per day for salads, cooking, and baking.

Preliminary clinical studies provide evidence that consumption of olive oil may lower risk of heart disease risk factors such as lower blood cholesterol levels and reduced LDL cholesterol oxidation, and that it may also possibly influence inflammatory, thrombotic, hypertensive and vasodilatory mechanisms.

Adopt DASH diet (Mediterranean diet). Eat a low-cholesterol, low-fat diet, which includes cottage cheese, fat-free milk, fish, vegetables, poultry, and egg whites. Use monounsaturated oils such as olive, peanut, and canola oils or polyunsaturated oils such as corn, safflower, soy, sunflower, cottonseed, and soybean oils. Avoid foods with excess fat in them such as meat (especially liver and fatty meat), egg yolks, whole milk, cream, butter, shortening, pastries, cakes, cookies, gravy, peanut butter, chocolate, olives, potato chips, coconut, cheese (other than cottage cheese), coconut oil, palm oil, and fried foods.
