I get a lot of extra heartbeats, etc, seemingly caused by hypertension and mild Lvh. I've just had a period of 2-3 weeks of "normal", eg, my heart rate has been up in the 60s-70s, blood pressure good and I haven't felt many extra heart beats, just the odd one or two where it's generally many times a day. Honestly, I've felt great. Now, last couple of days, heart rate dropped back to 47-52 and got the passing out sensations back. Also yesterday my heart rate suddenly started beating really fast for several seconds, on 3 separate occasions while sat at my desk working. One of the times I thought I was going to pass out and felt like my face swelled up and hot. Checked my blood pressure at night and it was fine. What's going on? Could my BP suddenly go up causing this and then go back to normal?

Hi Garrysrry!
Are you on a beta blocker for your hypertension?
Amlopidine. Can’t take beta blockers because of asthma from what I remember. There was a reason. I started on 5mg of Ramipril but developed a rash on my arms. Cardiologist upped it to 10mg and swapped to Amlopidine. Still get the rash but think that’s eczema. GP reckons it’s a separate thing but it got bad when I started meds. He thinks it’s coincidental. I’m not so sure. Never suffered with it before.
I take Amlodipine, Carvedilol and Lisinopril to keep my BP down. Beta blockers also make your heart beat slower. When my heart rate drops into the 40’s and 50’s, I feel like I’m going to pass out too! If you’re used to the 60’s and 70’s, which I am, that’s too low. Maybe one of your meds is too much. Just wondering...
Ive managed to time my faster beats now and is around 180 bpm. Anyone know if this is still a part of my ectopic beats that I get? Is it safe?
