I wouldn't eat white rice daily as it is high in carbs. How about a mixture of wild rice and white rice? What about substituting the white rice for bulgur wheat, cous cous, cauliflower rice or quinoa?

Any thing in excess is a problem . White rice can be taken in moderation . The objection raised is because it gets digested very easily and compels us to take something with in a short time . If the next intake in small quantity of low GI would not give a big problem Taking a couple of dates once , 15 pieces of peanuts once , mixed grain roti of 6inch diameter once ,an orange once ,3 to 4 glasses of buttermilk in the afternoon ,a guava per day ,like this if food intake is spread the whole day one can take white rice also without any harm . People used to white rice can't take brown rice or roti . I have seen this in many cases in south India .Gymnema ----homeopathic preparation , takes away the urge for sweets . I observed even in coffee people with out any effort reduce the sugar to half the amount . But gymnema as supplement is not that effective.White rice taken in moderation with high nutrient foods is not harmful . FOOD habits depend on the customs, traditions, climate and availability of those products in a particular region . With out taking any junk food ,and high carb concentrated items , only rice , white rice with other nutrients is not harmful . Countries like Thailand , Japan , certain belts in India where the incidence of diabetes is rather low prove that point . Recent hike in diabetes rates in many countries is because of many other factors especially junk food and pollution with defective life style .

It is found out that a certain amount of bacteria goes in to our stomach whenever we eat something. To combat that bacteria the immunity system gets geared up which needs some calories. That helps in arresting the extra reserves of calories .So eating more times in small quantities is beneficial to our health. There is a misconception that eating many times is inconvenient and harmful in some quarters .This finding dispels that notion.
