I bought coconut oil today to try it to s... - Cure Parkinson's
I bought coconut oil today to try it to see if it will help my Parkinsons. Can someone please tell me how to start out taking this?
hi. you have made me think of something. my soon to be ex is Brasilan, and they drink a lot of coconut water, as do the folks in the Carribean. As I recollect, these countries have a much lower level of PD than us. I believe the Carribean folks also use a lot of Coconut Milk, but not so the Brasilians
Does anybody want to research this?
I just put about a tea spoon in a small tiny glass and put the glass in a larger glass that has hot water in it. I have no idea how often or how much. I have been told to drink a 8 oz
glass a day. I have been told to use it in place of butter and using it in baking. At least this gives you an idea. Maybe we should all go the Carribaean and ask them. ~~ Dennis
I use it for cooking! Frying! Pop popcorn in it. Really good! It has a much higher cooking heat level than other oils! I love this stuff. But I love coconut! I use it on my my hair before shampooing. I use it as a lotion on my dry skin. I keep a jar in the bathroom and another in the kitchen. I buy it at swansons.com! I have no involvement in this company! But they are half the price of stores and order a certain dollar amount and free shipping! Hope this helps! Just use it and experiment! Most of the time I don't even taste it!
Blessings,
Carol<><
Thank you so much!!!!
I seem to remember a West Indian lady friend of mine many years ago used to buy fizzy coconut milk in cans (unripened coconut milk) I wonder if that works can't remember the name of it.
Also you can buy coconut cream in tins I think used in curry's
My worst nightmare is taking stuff and putting on weight, then being told I am diabetic again.
I lost two stone last year and was told the diabetes had gone away.
All I see with Coconut oil is calories and weight gain, and a lecture from the practice nurse on eating sensibly
It seems a no win situation.
ah well thats life!
Check it out on the Internet for calories, etc... I'm sure it has calories as does any oil! But it's coconut! How can it be bad for you? No Dr. Is going to lecture me about myself! If they try to, I tell them; hey I am in my 60's and I have an in curable disease! I will not deny myself anything I want to eat! I'm a type II diabetic and I will eat what I want! That's all I enjoy now! And how in the world would an oil effect blood sugar?
Blessings,
Carol. <><
What about the satiated fat in coconut oil. I attended a PD symposium and coconut oil was discussed in a less favorable light. I'm confused about coconut oil.
My daughter is taking something called coconut manna, which is edible. I have been able to cook with the coconut oil I bought, but don't know how to ingest it otherwise, although rubbing on my skin is great for those flaky spots. Can't wait to find the manna! She lost a wart she's had forever. Supposed to be antiviral.
hi, I bought coconut oil at Costco - its about $15 for 54 oz - pure unrefined cold presses 100% organic extra virgin - sound good, i think.
Just take a small teaspoon every day. You can also do some oil pulling. For that, take a small amount, put it in your mouth and swish it through your teeth, for about 10-15 min., then spit out into the toilet. This will keep your gums and oral health up.
Put the jar of coconut oil in the microwave, if coagulated, for about 1 minute on high. This will liquefy to an oil. Scoop 1 tablespoon full out and put it on your cereal in the morning. I just started this but am not seeing any results.

I have PD, diagnosed at age 75. Mainly tremors in my right arm, loss of smell, some muscle stiffness in my neck and an excess of saliva. I take no meds at this time.
I saw some literature on coconut oil and thought I would try it. The formula I use is called "Fuel for Thought." This is a liquified coconut oil and is expensive. I take one ounce in the morning and one in the evening.
I have taken this for 5 weeks. I have noticed that my tremor is less than previous. My wife has noticed this also. In addition I no longer have any problems with saliva.
It seems something is happening and I plan to stay on it for at least 6 months.
