THANKS

its bank holiday .look like a bad long week end for export .

I am not familiar with DBS ... hopefully PM members with DBS experience will chime in soon. What I do know ... DBS is tech and 90% of tech problems can be solved by turning off and turning back on again.
I do not know if it is a good idea but it might be worth a go.
Please use your limited energy wisely. Ring your emergency contacts to help out - family / friends / care giver / ambulance ...
Are you getting in enough food/liquids? Sleep deprivation, lack of proper nutrition, dehydration, change in medications, possible tech error with DBS, PD itself : all potentially work against you when in a 'flare up' / health emergency situation.
Be smart. Limit your risk. If you can't help yourself get someone there who can help you ASAP.
If your gut instinct tells you this is dire ... then it is dire ... get help ASAP ... bank holiday weekend or not ... please Export ring someone for help.
Thanks I don't know what to make of your answer
You see that,s the problem , If you don't know what a DBS Is and even if you did could you
tel me if its working or not

Hi Export I have a remote control to manage my DBS settings. I try to take the minimum PD meds and I do find that there are certain times of the day which are challenging - the afternoons especially. Do you know what settings you have on your DBS? Tony
had DBS 2 years ago. When my batteries are turned on, I cannot walk. when I'm a swaying, bouncing off the walls mess the batteries go on and i I instantly stop moving around. So far that's all it's good for, for me
Hi Export, this happened to my husband on Christmas day,he had helped me move a table and spent the rest of the day in bed.Turned out his battery needed changing.Have you tried ringing the hospital neuro ward to see if there is a parkinsons nurse on duty?try switching yourself off leave for about 2 mins then switch yourself back on,this can sometimes help as well.Hope this is some help.
Just a thought if the battery is really low,on your remote, on the back is some lights, hold the remote to your box and press one of the buttons, then have a look at the lights if one of them is amber or flashing amber it is either the battery in your remote needs changing or it is indicating your battery is low.
THANK -YOU
I already know the battery is on the way out . What I don't know is what happens if it stops .
I know i would stop.
I don't have a remote I have no control over it
I don't want phone the hospital because they well say come in and do nothing until to morrow I now know what it is the battery thank all

Well, hopefully your tomorrow is here! I had my DBS put in October, 2006! The batteries started getting low and we new it and thought we could wait a month. Then the device started just started shutting itself off for no reason at all! OH my goodness, I could not believe how bad I was without it!! I had no idea how bad I truly was until then! I do carry a device that I myself can turn it up or down, and on and off! I would never want it to be off again! Ask your doctor about this. I now can live my life quite normally (other than some panic attacks lately). Do not give up! See your Neuro, get surgery scheduled asap, and get that battery replaced and get back to your life! You went through a lot to get this DBS! Whatever you do, do not give up! I hope you can get this soon!
Blessings,
Carol
Home Depot security scanner turned mine off 6 months ago. Wife has a remote that she uses to check battery. CHECKED. It was off. She turned it back on. Took a while but was back to normal by the evening. Now I check every store and shop before I go in, especially if she is not with me.
Carol are you taking madopar /simanet if so When the DBS stop't did the l-dopa help you at all ?
yours EXPORT.
Do you have the device or control to check your equipment?? I can only say what my implants do, you feel shaky and frozen. but I can turn it on or off, you need your doctor or programer right away!!
thank-you Kadie I have appointment to get it sorted on the 7-9-12 .
They seem to think i will manage .:
yours EXPORT.
Do you have reg or rechargeable battery? ? I have rechargeable. With the charger is easy to shut your device off if you press the wrong button. NO ER ? Nurse help?? Bad week?? NOT good.
