Yes, unfortunately apathy and lack of desire is a real problem with PD. It stinks.

I think this can be a problem PD or no PD! I am fortunate that I don't seem to have a problem, however I wanted to comment about the importance of feeling and looking good. Taking time to make an effort, to be desired and desirable. Being ill doesn't mean you stop wearing sexy pajamas's, perfume and have a twinkle in your eye! Actually it is more reason!

We have been affected by this. Quite the opposite from our 25 yr. relationship pre-PD. It's tough to primp when even holding up the hair-dryer seems like a ton. Tough to feel "sexy". Also, my poor husband does so much for me that he worries all the time. We still do, however, find time to lie in each others arms, enjoying the closeness. I try to remember that we are lucky to still be in love.

I miss the physical attraction a lot but, I still enjoy the friendship and closeness of a good relationship.

Me too and one problem is because of all the medicine the er ah the plumming doesn't sork anymore and I've asked a marriage counselor about this and he and his wife had written out a guide. to intamatecy and to be honest some of seems a little racy but what we do in out own bedrooms is no ones business. But my wife feels very uncomfortable with anything out of the ordinary. She doesn't even like to get into serious kissing, so I know all to well where you're coming from.

I am not sure if it's the PD or the fact that my husband has been suffering from gout and is in pain most of the time.....not to mention that he has gained almost 100 lbs. Not a turn on for sure. I'm guessing I'm just no longer physically attracted.

I, too, was in a long-term, monogamist relationship, engaged, and when I had to return home due to the impending death of an aunt that had cancer, and after the distancing and intimacy fading like a collapse of a glacier, my ex informed me that it was time for me ‘to move on.’ Mind you I’m a gay Brit, and my lesbian Aunt (the other half of my ill aunt) has a son that just celebrated his 30th birthday and his 5th anniversary to his partner (loads of gays and lesbians in my family). So we flew to my home, and the following day he took the train to a friend’s house.

I never saw him again. He contacts me occassionally I am devoted to my ‘global family’, yet would like an intimate relationships. In the meantime I have cats. It helps.
