Does anyone have heaviness in their legs?

This is how APDA describes it....

"They frequently describe their legs as feeling, “like they’re made out of lead,” “like they’re in concrete.” But they will also feel weak all over, or describe weakness in their hands or arms. In fact, when Parkinson’s Disease patients are tested for strength they are normal but they do fatigue easier"

A friend at RSB has this happening & I told him I would check with all of you & see if I could find anything out. Do any of you have this symptom. He has a hard time walking. It be just recently started happening. He said he can ride a bicycle but it's hard to walk & the heaviness is bothersome.

Thanks

Debbie

My legs are a problem.

There are posts / studies elsewhere that describe where PwP can easily ride bicycles

Laglag,

Is your friend on medication. I feel somewhat like this, i feel weak and as if I was wading through water when my meds wear off but meds make me feel strong again.

Hikoi,

Yes, I know he's on C/L and Entacapone but I'm not sure if he's taking anything else. His GP told to take Aleve until he sees his Neuro again. Thanks for your input. He's upset about it, but who wouldn't be?

I have that problem, too, many times, but not always. Taking my meds at the right time, helps. Sometimes, I have to lift one, or both of my legs, up, to get in a vehicle. The stiffness and heaviness can be a problem!

"Lead legs" pretty much describes me every now and then. I slide down the hall, but have never had to come to a complete stop. Doesn't usually last for a long time.

Yes,I feel this in my legs,oh I hate it.It usually occur when after taking my first dose of sinemet or Rytary in the mornings and unable to take a nap.But it usually disappear after napping.I think,it is fatigue from the disease.

Is there anything you can do for the legs that helps ? Do you think the Aleve will help or possibly magnesium oil or?

Thanks for all of your comments.

Try leg exercises. Or stationary bike exercise if you have, Check online for leg exrcises while lying in bed or sitting on a chair These exercises will improve the blood circulation in the legs and brain,
