dopamine club!

Hi! I’m at the end of the road for CL. Can’t take more and can’t boost it more. And only get 10 minutes of on time. Wait listed for DBS, appointment is months away Exercise 90 minutes per day with walking and stretches. Strict plant based oil free diet. 90 minutes of prayer each day So anyway I’m not one to give up . I’m looking for healthy ways to safely and naturally increase dopamine . My latest find is ice! Had terrible sciatica that responded well to ice pack. Fell asleep and woke up feeling great! Since then I’ve tried it on my neck, shoulder, foot… all great results! If you would like to join my dopamine club, just submit one natural dopamine generating action that works for you. You’re in!😁🥸😫

Thanks for the tip! how long do you ice the specific body parts? And how frequently?

I ice as needed for pain. Maybe twice a day. 20 min. Big ice gel pack. I’d try an icy plunge but I live in Florida and the pool/tap water are not cold right now

Set yourself an achievable goal every day - big or small.

Make it part of a "to do" list and cross it off when completed - this is when you get the dopamine hit!

so is the ice kind of like wim hof ? It seems like Wim Hof is highly regarded and the idea is that an ice bath increases dopamine but it sounds like pure torture to me : )

"Yes, some research suggests that submerging your body in cold water, like an ice bath, can increase dopamine levels in the brain by up to 250%. Dopamine is known as the "feel-good" hormone and is associated with feelings of happiness, motivation, alertness, and focus. Some studies have found that the increase in dopamine can last for several hours, or even up to six hours after an ice bath"

"Increased dopamine was found to last in the body for up to six hours after an ice bath/cold shower. This practice can help battle mental disorders such as depression and bipolar disorder. The benefits for improving mental resilience are also found with an ice bath practice."

Strict plant based oil free diet

If you are referring to seed / vegetable oils then its ok... But you need Omega 3, saturated fat and LDL to repair/ protect the brain.

That’s what the keto therapy says. It’s helped many people with a variety of illnesses including the brain. Are you referring to this?
