Mirapex ER......

Mirapex is 1 of the 3 meds i take daily. I have found it is the Mirapex that's causing me to have a bad sore gut all the time. I live on crackers and tums to keep the acids in check and not feel sick to my stomach. I am new to this, is this something that will fade or what....

Also, the Sudden Sleep side effect... WOW... So glad I DVR stuff, wouldn't see anything if i didn't.

I quit Mirapex due to the constipation. About the same time, I developed gastritis and esophagitis and my GI doc put me on Prilosec for a couple of months. All became much better in time, but I'm not going back to Mirapex anytime soon. (besides, it had no effect on my tremor symptoms.zzz0

Your neuro may prescribe meds but if they don't suit you you don't have to take them. Remember it's you who get the side-effects not the guy in the office! Is the Mirapex helping the Parkinson's symptoms?

For gut improvement read brainhelp.info and consider taking daily yoghurt and lactobacillus drink to steady the gut bacteria.

You can ask your Dr what general tenancies are, but it's then up to your individual body.

I tried Mirapex -- a disaster for me! Lower legs so swollen that the skin was cracking and started to bleed, BTW, salt and hydrogen peroxide are amazingly great at getting blood out of a carpet. It seems to disappear!

Terrible side effects. Switched to8mg ReQuipXL, then with forced pace cycling, reduced to 4mg and dropped Azilect. See pedalingforparkinsons.org.

I was on Mirapex for 2 years with terrific physical functioning...however I was super impulsive and bought 7 cars as well as dropping off to sleep while driving. The side effects of Mirapex will literally kill you or get you divorced...look out...it will most likely be the most interesting chapter in my book titled "My life as a Parkie".
